CrewCast SMS Consent & Opt-In

How users consent to receive text message notifications from CrewCast, a service operated by CivicLink Solutions, LLC


Overview

CrewCast sends SMS/text message notifications to keep users informed about public infrastructure project updates such as road closures, construction timelines, and project delays. Users only receive text messages after explicitly opting in through one of the methods described below.

Opt-In Methods

1. Follow Project (Website Opt-In)

When a user visits a project details page on CrewCast, they can click the "Follow Project" button. A dialog appears with an optional checkbox:

By checking the box above, you consent to receive automated text message notifications from CrewCast, a service operated by CivicLink Solutions, LLC, about project updates at the phone number associated with your account. Message frequency varies based on project activity. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by unchecking this option in your Account Settings or by unfollowing the project. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. Reply HELP for help.

The SMS checkbox is unchecked by default. The user must actively check this box to receive SMS notifications. Without checking it, the user receives in-app notifications only — no text messages are sent.

2. QR Code Access

Contractors may generate QR codes for their projects. When a member of the public scans the QR code, they are taken to the project details page where they can register for an account and follow the project using the same opt-in flow described above.

3. Account Settings

Logged-in users can enable or disable SMS notifications at any time from their Account Settings page using an SMS notification toggle.

The following disclosures are presented to users at the point of opt-in:

  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on project activity.
  • Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out instructions: Reply STOP to any message to cancel, or manage preferences in Account Settings.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance.
  • Privacy Policy: View our SMS Privacy Policy
  • Terms and Conditions: View our Terms and Conditions

Opt-Out

Users can opt out of SMS notifications at any time by:

  • Replying STOP to any CrewCast text message
  • Disabling SMS notifications in their Account Settings
  • Unfollowing the project on CrewCast

HELP Keyword

Users who reply HELP to any CrewCast message will receive a response with support information:

"CrewCast by CivicLink Solutions. Get project updates via SMS. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. For help: support@crewcastapp.com or visit crewcastapp.com"


No Sharing of Phone Numbers

CivicLink Solutions, LLC does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used solely for delivering CrewCast project update notifications.
